Contacting Good Karma Bikes

We’re a small but mighty team doing our best to serve the community.
Before reaching out, please take a moment to review the most common questions below—you’ll likely find your answer there.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to email us at goodkarma@goodkarmabikes.org. We’ll do our best to get back to you as quickly as we can. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Q: Do you have a (S/M/L/XL) road bike in stock?
Thanks for reaching out! As a nonprofit community bike shop, our inventory is constantly changing and we don’t have the capacity to check for specific bikes by size or type. To see what’s currently available, please visit our online store here:

 https://goodkarmabikes.company.site/products

Q: Do you have a specific wheelset or bike part in stock?
We’re not able to search through our parts inventory for specific items—but you’re absolutely welcome to stop by and look through what we have!

Q: My bike has an issue—can you fix it?
We’re happy to help! However, we aren’t able to diagnose or assess bike issues through photos or descriptions. Please bring your bike in during our shop hours and one of our mechanics can take a look and let you know what we can do.

P.S. If the frame is cracked or bent, you’re out of luck.

Q: How much is a specific service?
You can find a full list of services and pricing here:  https://goodkarmabikes.org/retail-service/
If you still have questions after reviewing that, we’re happy to help in person. Come see us!

Q: Do you service e-bikes?
A: Yes, we can assist with minor repairs such as flat tires and basic mechanical adjustments. However, we do not work on any electrical components of e-bikes.

Q: Do you sell e-bikes?
A: No.

Q: Can I donate a bike?
Yes, we gratefully accept bike donations!
Before coming in, please review our donation intake guidelines to make sure we can accept your bike and to save yourself time:
 https://goodkarmabikes.org/donate

Please note: We do not offer pickup service and cannot retrieve bikes from homes or businesses.

Q: Can I donate other bike related items?
Yes, we also are happy to take wheels, bike parts, frames etc. We also take gently used bike clothing, shoes, helmets, and locks.

Q: I’m in a tough spot—how can I get a granted bike?
We’re here to help, but there’s a process in place. If you’re working with (or can connect with) any social services organization, please ask your case manager to email us at:

 freebikes@goodkarmabikes.org

They’ll need to send a brief message on your behalf. Please note that we work only with case managers and will not respond to direct client requests.

Q: I’m a case manager and want to support a client in receiving a granted bike. How do I get started?
A: We’re happy to help! Please email freebikes@goodkarmabikes.org to begin the process. You’ll receive a link with instructions on how to request a bike for your client.

Q: Do you offer bike consignment?
We do not offer consignment services at this time, sorry.

Q: Do you rent bikes?
A: We’re sorry, but we do not offer bike rentals. However, we often hear from people who are in town for a short time—maybe for work or a summer program—and there’s still a great option! You’re welcome to purchase one of our affordable refurbished bikes (sometimes as low as $99), and when you’re done with it, simply donate it back to us. We’ll provide you with a tax receipt, and your bike will go to someone in need. It’s a win-win!

Q: I need repairs, but I can’t afford them.
We invite you to our Free Repair Clinic, held every Saturday at 10:00 AM in the back parking lot.

– First-come, first-served (please arrive early).
– Two free repairs per visit at the mechanic’s discretion.
–  No free cosmetic work (e.g. grips, saddles, bar tape).
– You must present proof of government assistance (e.g. Medi-Cal, CalFresh).
– Service must be on a complete bike—no bare frames or missing wheels.
