Bike Mechanic Education Program

Empowering Communities, One Bike at a Time

Transform Your Passion into Purpose: Join Our Park Tool School

Are you looking for a meaningful way to serve your community as a volunteer while mastering a valuable skill? Our Park Tool School, an extension of our volunteer program, offers more than just bike education—it’s your gateway to making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

What Makes Our Program Special

Our highly sought-after course combines professional-grade instruction with hands-on experience. Through a thoughtfully structured program of lectures, demonstrations, and workshop time, you’ll literally take a bike apart and reassemble it from the ground up. Guided by experienced instructors and dedicated teaching assistants, you’ll develop the confidence and skills to transform broken bikes into reliable transportation. By the end of the course, you’ll be equipped to handle approximately 90% of bike repair challenges you’ll encounter.

A Comprehensive Learning Journey

Over four immersive weeks, you’ll dive into curriculum drawn from Park’s BBB-4 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair and United Bicycle Institute’s Professional Repair and Shop Operations. Whether you’re an experienced mechanic looking to refine your techniques or a beginner, our program is designed to elevate your skills to new heights.

Beyond Mechanics: Building Community

When you complete our program, you’ll join a community of dedicated volunteers who use their skills to provide affordable transportation solutions, promote sustainability, and empower individuals from all walks of life.
