About Jim Gardner

James T. Gardner, Ph. D. founded Good Karma Bikes in July 2009 to serve the needs of homeless and low-wage working people for reliable, safe transportation. He quickly realized that what was going on was not about bicycles; it was about the Clients and the transformation of their self-esteem. To this end, Good Karma Bikes provides training and job skills for clients in bicycle repair, maintenance, eCommerce, and retail. Jim grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. He attended college at the University of Southern California, studying engineering. He received a bachelors, two masters and a Ph. D. degree in Solid State Physics, Optoelectronics.
